Paris Cafe Highlight * Gold Flakes

Carette Cafe

Everyone knows that Paris is one of my favorite destinations. This time around I found this amazing cafe; and not only does it have divine food options, but the view of the Eiffel tower makes it extra special. Being the foodie that I’am, I needed to try many different food options. Starting with a French staple: French Onion Soup. Loaded with caramelized onions and bubbly Gruyère cheese this kicked off my traditional French food journey. Moving on to a French dessert that many people know and love: Macaroons. The options for flavors we endless and these little desserts were on the pricey side but worth the Euros. Flavors shown: Vanilla, salted caramel, raspberry, current, pistachio, chocolate, and creme brulee. I’m sure I missed some, because I bought so many. My favorite was the vanilla and salted caramel.

This next dessert deserves a big highlight due to the fact that it has gold flakes. If that doesn’t scream luxury, I don’t know what does. This lovely dessert is called the Saint Honore: cream puffs, caramelized sugar, chiboust cream and whipped cream. The kicker is that, its topped with gold flakes trapped in the caramelized sugar.  Gold on my cream puffs…….why not? Go check out Carette Cafe when your’e in Paris, and after go take a smooch with you loved one my the Effiel Tower.
