Let’s go to Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia! Saudi is becoming a country that likes to give it’s expats a taste of home. They did a good job in keeping their western residents happy with this cafe. Madeleine French Bakery & Brasserie, is a must go if your’e ever in the city. When you walk into the cafe, your’e greeted by the huge pastry case filled with different goodies. Besides the pastries, pies, and cakes, they have a full menu. With normal cafe fair, they also serve pizza freshly made in their brick oven. The bread pudding is just to die for, which my friends and I fought over. The pudding comes with an option of caramel sauce or nutella. In addition to the sauces, it comes with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. After the pudding was destroyed, the raspberry macaroon caught my eye. Filled with sweet cream, it’s packed with raspberry jam and fresh raspberries. The other two honorable mentions are the chicken pesto pizza, and the Madeleine club.
